Capitalism Kills Love

Back in November, I was contacted by the brilliant Dutch photographer Aram Tanis with a series of striking photos he wanted to submit for the zine. We were in the process of finishing up Happy Hour at the time and weren’t taking submissions, but I really wanted to work with his images. So, I suggested a little experimental print project, inspired by Claire Fontaine‘s Capitalism Kills Love installation at Art Basel Miami (which was surprisingly taken down before the event).

These prints are an extension of the fugue process, pulling words and phrases from it and remixing them with Aram’s images. The series is a work in progress, but I’m really happy with the results thus far. They’re digitally printed onto a nice rich stock (Mohawk’s Via Felt 80lb. cover), and really pop.

If you’re interested in seeing these in real life (they look/feel way better than these digital images), I’ll be showing/selling them at ckut’s Art’s Birthday event this Saturday at l’Envers.
